Hi Hale,

I'm applying for the Senior Software Engineer role.

Financial inclusion deserves great engineering, and I'd love to help Nova Credit build it.

I'm Eliecer Vera — nine years building SaaS products across the full stack, from React frontends to backend APIs to the infrastructure holding it all together.

The Mission Is Personal

Financial inclusion through better data infrastructure

The Mission Is Personal

Credit Passport and Cash Atlas solve a real problem — millions of creditworthy people locked out because the right data isn't connected. I've built platforms that serve underserved users before, and knowing my code could help a lender say yes to someone they'd otherwise reject? That's the kind of work that actually sticks with you.

Platform-level engineering where reliability isn't optional

High-Stakes APIs Done Right

Nova Credit connects credit bureaus, banks, and employers into a single API surface that financial institutions depend on. I love this kind of work — systems where every edge case has real consequences and "good enough" isn't good enough. I've built APIs like this at Swoogo and Skillshare and I know what it takes to keep them solid under pressure.

What I bring

Full-Stack Depth

Nine years across PHP/Laravel, React/TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS. Nova Credit's stack lines up almost exactly with mine, so there's no onboarding tax on the technology side.

AI in Daily Use

Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, AI agents. Not learning these — using them to ship real things every day. At Swoogo I'm leading the engineering strategy for AI automation as part of my EM role.

Fintech & SaaS DNA

Every company I've worked at has been SaaS — Swoogo, Skillshare, eMindful. I know the subscription model, I understand enterprise customer expectations, and I've shipped in compliance-conscious environments where "move fast and break things" isn't an option.

Speed to Ship

Built a rideshare platform from scratch as CTO. Delivered same-sprint at Swoogo when customers asked. Built this site to apply for this job. I'd rather ship and iterate than plan forever.

AI is my daily toolkit, not a buzzword

As Engineering Manager at Swoogo, I'm leading our AI automation and orchestration strategy — designing systems that use LLMs to replace manual operations at scale. It's not a side project I squeeze in; it's a core part of my job and how I think about building software now.

I use Claude Code every single day. This site was built with it. Beyond code generation, I work with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and AI agents in actual production contexts — not demos, not experiments, things that run.

Nova Credit's stack lines up closely with mine. Node.js, React, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS — these are all technologies I've shipped with. There's no ramp-up on the tooling side. The exciting part is learning Nova Credit's domain: how credit data flows, where the integration pain points live, and where AI can help the platform make smarter decisions.

For a role focused on data models and scoring systems, being fluent with AI means I can move faster without cutting corners — generating and validating test coverage for integration edge cases, exploring data model variations quickly, and catching issues earlier. The goal is shipping reliable work faster, not just shipping faster.

Let's talk.

I'd love to hear more about what the engineering team is working on at Nova Credit right now — the platform challenges, where you're growing next, what's hard. I've been building SaaS products for nearly a decade and I'm ready to put that behind work that genuinely matters.

P.S. Based in Orlando, FL. Fully set up for remote work. Available to start in 2 weeks.
